I'm not sure if she has slots left but our own VP, Mary Potts, is trying to help SOS by offering----
Family Portrait Fund Raising Weekend!
Families Helping Families fund raising weekend is almost here and the time slots are booking fast!
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I am waiving my studio fee ($150-$300) and giving families a 30 minute photo session in the studio for a $40.00 donation to Share Our Strength Community Services. We would like to raise $1000.00 for the food bank right here in Ypsilanti. As we all know, times are though and the charities are really taking a hard blow. This is a way to make a generous contribution and receive a quality portrait session just in time for the holidays.
A password protected web gallery is included with each session for you to view your images and share with friends and family members.
There are still a few time slots left. Call today to book your family session! 734-972-2331
Check out her website at http://www.marypottsphotography.typepad.com/
If you need a photographer make sure to contact Mary First and get out this weekend if you can.

This winter's Shadow Art Fair is this Saturday, December 6, from noon to midnight at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. In addition to the goods made by our super sweet vendors, also available will be Shadow Art Fair posters and t-shirts featuring this round's winning design by Letterform, all printed up by our sponsor, VGKids.
Admission to the event is 2 cents. Per the Corner Brewery, if you are under 21, you must be accompanied by a parent to be admitted.
Other highlights:
- the special Shadow Brew will be on tap in the evening. This winter's edition is a stout made with chocolate, raspberries, blueberries, beets and other goodnesses.
- the Ann Arbor Film Festival's space will be accompanied by the PLAY gallery's Animation Station, which allows you to make your own animations on-the-spot.
- The Ypsilanti Citizen will be broadcasting live from the Brewery, conducting interviews and covering the event.
- The recipients of our first round of grant-giving will be there (Washtenaw County's CSTS), with a display demonstrating what they were able to do with the grant they received over the summer. They used their funds to support their "Art and Recovery Project."
