This Coming Saturday is the CoPAC community Picnic -- Spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Every Ypsilanti Resident is invited.

August 8, 1-4pm, Saturday
Riverside Park
The (Community Policing Action Council) invites you to the 6 th Annual All-Neighborhood Associations Community Picnic Free lunch, activities for kids and more. All Ypsi Residents come and enjoy the afternoon with your neighbors in the park! Enjoy food provided by local restaurants (Sidetrack, Wolverine, Beezy's, Terry Bakery, and many more) while exploring the bookmobile and an old fire truck. Many activities for kids including interactive songs and stories.

The Circus is Coming to Town -- I believe it is the Kelly Miller Circus
This Friday -- Look at the Ypsilanti Jaycees site for more information.

There are two shows - One at 4:30 and one at 7pm, I went last year and it was a darn good circus.

We were planning a parade float for the PPNA but I just found out that the application was due on August 1st. I guess we'll know better next year. The good news is that we can put those efforts into entering the Bed Race. Its a lot like being in the parade but probably a lot more fun. If you are interested in participating in the 1st annual heritage festival Bed-Race contact me. prospectparkneighborhood at comcast.net I really think this will be a fun event. We will be getting together this week to discuss plans.

This isn't Ypsi -- but if anyone wants to go on this as a group let me know. The DetroitBikes rides are very slow and easily paced and they do a great job planning their routes to be safe and interesting

4th Annual Detroit Bikes! Tour de Dearborn - Saturday, August 8th

Join Detroit Bikes! in our 4th Annual tour of the cultural landmarks that make up one of Metro Detroit's most valued auto-heritage cities and landscapes, the City of Dearborn. Starting from the East End of Ford Field (i! n Dearborn) near Brady Street, our Tour de Dearborn begins @ 10am sharp, on Saturday, August 8th and should conclude around 2:30pm to celebrate the Dearborn Homecoming Festival. Detroit Bikes! is looking to show Metro Detroit that two wheels are better than four, and what better way to exclaim this than what is considered the birthplace of Henry Ford.
