Hello Neighbors,
As always, the Crossroads Festival has two good bands on Friday and as a bonus they have a bunch of good bands on Saturday. To pull this off they need a few volunteers for about an hour on Friday. If anyone can show up on Washington Street on Friday between 4:30 and 6:00pm to help bring out and set up chairs it would be really appreciated. Contact me at prospectparkneighborhood at comcast.net for more information. If you would like to volunteer any other time I'm certain there are many other groups that need help this weekend.
I also want to let you know that one time PPNA resident Ron of The Horse Cave Trio will be playing with his band on the heritage festival stage from 5-6pm on Saturday. They are a fun Rockabilly band and they always add a little extra when they play in Ypsi.
For my own info - I'm looking for an inexpensive interior painter - if you know one contact me at prospectparkneighborhood at comcast.net
See you at the Heritage Fest,
Kurt

In other Crossroads news:
Folks,
We are having a fundraiser to benefit the Ypsilanti Crossroads Summer Festival this Saturday, August 22nd, from 9:00 PM to close at the Tap Room Annex, 201 West Michigan Avenue, 734.482-5320.
Tracy Mack and John Hicks of Tracy Mack & The Magic Land Band will begin performing at 9:00 PM and they will alternate sets with NoteWorthy .
This show has it all from folk and pop to R & B and soul! A guest artist or two are also expected.
Everyone who contributes $5 or more will be entitled to free pizza courtesy of Lisa & Brian Brickley of the Tap Room & Annex.
The Annex has attentive waitstaff, a great menu, and cold drinks to refresh you after the Heritage Festival events and our special Ypsilanti Crossroads Summer Festival concert featuring Eddie Hughes and Lady Sunshine & The X-Band.
There is no cover charge.
I also want to take this opportunity to let you know that Crossroads has been the spark that has helped to focus investor interest in our downtown.
Crossroads and DAY (the Downtown Association of Ypsilanti) thank all of you for your support!
I recently worked with Julie Mattera for several months to help her to gather information about the main issue on which we have all worked so hard...the redevelopment of downtown Ypsilanti. Our hard work and dedication is bearing fruit. Please take a look at Julie's recent article published by Concentrate Media. http://www.concentratemedia.com/features/ypsidowntown0068.aspx
Thanks. See ya this weekend.
