Block Party, Heritage Fest Float, Sidewalk Repair, Kickball, Yard Sale

Heritage Fest Float 
For Years we have been talking about a float to enter in the Heritage Festival Parade and it looks like we found a person to help make this happen. Neighbor Acadia has taken the reigns and is trying to gather people and ideas. We are going to put together a float committee so if you are interested in joining or have ideas contact Acadia (acadia.h at gmail.com). I believe the first meeting will be early next week.

Block Party July 19th, 2-6pm 
Plans for the Block Party are coming along fast and furious. I believe we will have a lot of good activities for folks to do. If you have a portable canopy that you can bring we would appreciate it. Of course, all neighbors with any talent or none should show up to entertain the troops. It will be the same basic principle, grills will be set up so you can cook your own food and if you want to be neighborly bring a dish to pass. I think we are still looking for some tables and grills so let me know if you can help with that. Volunteers are also needed to hand out fliers door to door.

Kickball 
The group YpsiCAN is putting together a neighborhood vs. neighborhood kick ball game at Rec. Park on August 1st during the benefit for the Senior Center Corn Roast. We are looking for players of all ages and anyone that just wants to come hang out.

Sidewalk Repair 
Sidewalk repair is the homeowners responsibility. We have one neighbor who is taking that responsibility seriously and getting their sidewalk replaced. In the world of cement contractors the more people who have this done, the cheaper it is going to be. If you are thinking about replacing you sidewalk and want to try to get a group rate, let me know. Also, if you know of a good contractor -- the more local the better -- suggestions are wanted.

Neighborhood Yard Sale 
The East Prospect Park Neighborhood (East of Prospect) is having a neighborhood yard sale in August. If you are interested in having a yard sale and working with the PPNA to work with the EPPNA on this event send me a note.

Don't Forget 
Chicken hearing tonight -- If you want chickens you need to show up. As I understand it there is a strong coalition against this that will be showing up in full force. 

Mulchfest II and Luna Lake Weeding -- We need volunteers this Friday and Saturday to help with Prospect Park. Please show up with shovels, wheel barrows, rakes, and pitch forks. Even an hour will help greatly.
