More things and Some Reminders

Here are a couple of things that came through my email today. 



    • This Coming Week is Jaycee's Week in Ypsilanti. That means there will be an organized event every night this coming week. 
    • The Second is the 'Original Moxie' Hair Care line is now available at Plum Market. If you don't know about Original Moxie it is a handmade line of hair care products developed in our neighboring neighborhood by Rachel Blistein. That is correct, the same Rachel that has worked very hard on Prospect Park and the Luna Lake Project. If you have hair, this is your chance to buy really local. 
    • 50th Anniversary Celebrations at East and West Middle Schools. 
    • REMINDERS: Tonight is the John Lennon Tribute/Benefit concert at the Corner Brewery. Tomorrow is the the Ypsilanti Songwriters Festival at the Whittaker Road Library with free concert by fantastic national acts at 8pm at the Corner. 






Jaycee's Week 

Mayor of Ypsilanti Declares October 11-17 �Jaycee Week� - with events for 
community members each night 

What started out as a small idea for showcasing the width and breadth of a 
local service organization, has now turned into an official city event in 
Ypsilanti. With a different event planned for every night of Jaycee Week, 
there will be something for everyone -from networking for the 
business-minded, a science night for parents and kids, socials, scavenger 
hunts exploring Ypsilanti, as well as a talent show & dating game. 

The Jaycees is an organization that strives to provide opportunities to 
help people develop themselves as leaders and service the community. 
Jaycee Week is a chance to showcase the types of events the Jaycees offer 
their members throughout the year to the community at large. 

Events in each of the areas are planned for every night of Jaycees Week 
With a 
Meet the Jaycees Mingler on Monday, October 12th from 6-9 pm Frenchies 56 
E. Cross 
Meet & get to know other community members, and learn more about the 
Jaycees organization. 

Speed Networking and Anti-Elevator Pitch seminar on Tuesday, October 13th 
from 6-8 pm 
SPARK East 215 W. Michigan Ave 
The speaker will help you learn what DOESN�T work with an elevator pitch 
and then practice what you�ve learned with speed networking. No cost to 
attend and enter to win door prizes. 

Science Night for Kids Wednesday, October 14th at 7pm Ypsilanti Library 
Room #1 229 W. Michigan Ave 
Make your own bouncy ball and invisible ink! Kids of all ages are welcome 
at this free event. 

Jaycees Monthly Meeting on Thursday, October 15th at 7pm 
Check out the monthly meeting to learn more about the Jaycees, meet our 
members and see what is planned for the next few months. Meeting is at the 
Ypsi Senior Center 1015 N. Congress. Social follows at Aubree�s in Depot 
Town at 9 pm 

�Ypsi�s Got Talent� Talent Show and Dating Game on Friday October 16th 7-9 
pm 
Tap Room 201 W. Michigan Ave. 
Watch people showcase their talents, or showcase your own at what's sure 
to be a fun event. Will also include a dating game, so you could find 
love here too! 

Discover Ypsi Halloween Scavenger Hunt for Saturday October 17th 6-9 pm 
Riverside Park Pavillion 1 W. Cross St. 
Discover more of Ypsilanti as teams engage in a fun scavenger hunt 
throughout the city. Bring your own team of 2-4, we'll also be putting 
teams together at the event

Check out our new and improved product line up as well as a whole new look for our packaging. I will be on hand this Saturday, the 10th, from 2pm - 5pm during Plum Market's Spa Day to provide personalized consultation. A limited number of "first edition" Original Moxie T-shirts will be among the items to be raffled off to lucky customers. Golden anniversaries. East and West Middle School turn 50 this year and each respective school is hosting a celebration open house. Current and former students and staff, along with community members are invited to attend. West celebration is 2-4 p.m.
