Hello Neighbors,
I checked out the Ypsi-Citi calendar and noticed a couple of things that I hadn't seen elsewhere. Plus, There are some other opportunities including - The Fall Clean up day at Prospect Park. This is it folks your LAST CHANCE to participate in the AWARD WINNING LUNA LAKE GARDEN PROJECT.
______________________________
Hi Everyone,
Luna Lake is looking good - the plants are really filling out, the fall colors are starting to pop and the asters and joe pye weed are still blooming! All it needs is a quick spruce up before Winter to keep it looking its best next Spring. We're hoping you can help us next Sunday, October 18th, from 10AM to 12PM as we weed, fertilize, and repair signage and fencing. This is a very light work load, so it should go fairly quickly. Some of us plan to fuel up beforehand at Cafe Luwak on Cross St. ( www.cafeluwak.com ) at 9AM (see their breakfast buffet promo below).
If anyone has any metal fence stakes or rebar that they can donate, we would be most grateful! We need a sturdy alternative to our rope and wood fence to keep kids (and grown ups) off the ice! We lost a lot of branches last year to folks who, due to the snow, were unaware of special plantings in that area.
This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and enjoy some time outside before the cold weather hits. Hope to see you there!
- Rachel

Howdy folks-
Please do me a favor and tune in to The Roots Music Project tomorrow (10/17) from 12 til 2pm (Eastern). You can also listen in online at: http://www.wemu.org
Tomorrow I will be broadcasting and playing music live on location from The Ark in Ann Arbor as part of the WEMU Fall 2009 On-air Fundraiser. As you know WEMU is a public radio station affiliated with NPR and a huge chunk of our funding comes directly from our listeners. Even if you are not in a position to give much, we will reach our goals if everybody who listens just gives a little. Go out to your car and lift up the floor mat, look for some change and that will be enough. Support Roots Music on the radio!
Seriously though, tomorrow will be cool and I will have some special guests down at The Ark including The RFD Boys who I may be able to coerce into playing some live music if the fundraising is going well. You are also welcome to come down to The Ark and visit us if you want!
