Hello Neighbors,

Not a lot of news to report today but there are some great events coming up that you should participate in.

To the News: I've been told that my issue with the AnnArbor.Com weekly that is thrown in our driveways has been sent to the City Attorney for review since the delivery methods violate a lot of City Ordinances against litter.
There was an accident on Hemphill this morning, No injuries. One of the folks who drive down our streets to avoid the traffic lights had a front wheel assembly fall off which caused her Ford Expedition to severely injure two parked cars.
We are soon to have new neighbors on Forest so be sure to welcome them when you pass by.

This Sunday is the Depot Town Chili Challenge starting at 3pm. Go early because some venues run out of chili. I've done this the past couple of year's and found it to be a great time. You get to taste some great chili and at least one participant is know to 'bribe' folks with free beer. Check out the YpsiCiti article for full details

Next Week

Hi All -

Over the winter, Ypsilanti resident Derv Mood has magnificently rebuilt Prospect Park's Purple Martin Bird House. See attached pictures.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Derv for the creation of this most fabulous bird condo.. Now if we can just get him to work on the Thompson Block...

And now we need to put it up before the scouting birds come back looking for a nesting place.

So we have scheduled an installation event at Prospect Park on Sunday, February 28th starting at 10:00AM . Job entails picking up and erecting scaffolding, installing birdhouse, trimming some trees, and dismantling and returning scaffolding. Hope you can make it and if so let me know. Spread the word.

Thanks again Derv for the great job.

Pete

Oh, and everything you ever wanted to know about Purple Martins can be found here. http://purplemartin.org/
