Hello Neighbors,
I'm on an anti snow and ice kick this week. I've written Ed Koryzno (City Manager) about sidewalks and Stan Kirton (Head of the Department of Public Works) about the streets (did you notice they were salted today?). I'm especially concerned with "motor wheel," RM Classic Cars, Michigan Ladder and the Farm Bureau building turned dump all of which don't shovel their walks and haven't for years. If you are a one of the many that walk from our neighborhood to EMU or anywhere else that you have to walk on these walkways contact the city manager ekoryzno at cityofypsilanti.com. Don't forget to mention the Thompson Block and the Depot while you are at it.
OK enough of that,
Here are a few things that have come across my inbox that I thought I would pass along. Look below for further details on listed items.
* The Crossroads Music Festival is seeking band submissions for this summer.
* The City of Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority is accepting letters of interest for interested individuals to serve on the DDA’s four standing committees. -- If you are interested in things happening in the City you might want to get involved with one of the committees.

Subject: CROSSROADS 2010 Submissions
Folks,
We are now accepting submissions from artists who want to perform at the 2010 Ypsilanti CROSSROADS Summer Festival.
The Ypsilanti Crossroads Summer Festival is a free downtown Ypsilanti series of live musical entertainment and other events.
The concerts are presented from our outdoor stage located on Washington Street in the block immediately north of Michigan Avenue. (Directly in front of Pub 13.) Our concert schedule is unique. We do not have rainouts! Concerts are held inside Club Divine, 25 N. Washington St, in the event of inclement weather.
All concerts are on Friday evenings, June 4th through Aug 20th. There will also be a special all-day series of events and music concerts on Saturday, Aug 21st in conjunction with the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival.
Please bookmark our website http://ypsicrossroads.org/ and feel free to forward this email to any other interested artists.
All performance applications (and other mailings) should be sent to:
YPSICROSSROADS
P. O. Box 981410
Ypsilanti, MI 48198
Please send an audio CD and hard-copy bio sheet. (All materials sent will become the property of Crossroads. We are unable to return your CD's and press kits.) You may also email a link to your Electronic Press Kit to crossroadsbooking at gmail.com . Hard copy submissions are preferred.
Press kits and EPKs will be distributed among the members of the selection committee. The committee will review all applications and make selections before they are booked.
