Hello Neighbors,

Last night I attended the Freighthouse update meeting at the Rec Park Senior Center. It looks like all will be on schedule for the SEMCOG A2-Detroit Train Coming this fall with Stops in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Metro Airport, TBD, The Henry Ford, Dearborn, and Detroit. According to the Semcog Video there will be SEMCOG run buses to take folks from the Train Stations to destinations around the cities all included in an economical fare.

As for the Freighthouse - Ed did a great job explaining where all of the money has gone. It looks like "The Friends of the Freighthouse" have their act together. Bids for the major project are coming sometime next week so look for workers to be on site in the near future. As I understand it they are in need of some more donations from the folks in the City. It appears that for every dollar you give 3 will be added by other sources as a match plus offer (up to $25,000 total received). Donate now and make your dollar, two, or more count. They need to raise this $25,000 by April 1st. Check out their website for more information - YOU CAN DONATE THROUGH THE WEBSIT E. I think this is a worthwhile cause so please donate.

The 'Talk of the Neighborhood Program' at the Senior Center is also going great. $5.00 per person or $6.00 per couple (kids free) gets you a nice night of entertainment, projects, education, and social gathering.
