Bring your dog out to the pool (975 Congress Street just west of Summit) for a dog-swim before the pool is drained for the winter. Donations to the Humane Society accepted. Even if you don't have a dog, come on out for a good time and lots of laughs as most of the dogs show sheer joy as they take over the pool for a few hours. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: Recently, construction was completed on a "temporary" trail along the north shore of the Huron River through the Water Street development area. The trail stretches from the Michigan Avenue bridge across the Huron River, south to a pedestrian bridge across the river leading to Waterworks Park. For a map of the trail, click here (the trail is the blue line). Also, for those interested, a usable trail also goes east from the pedestrian bridge to Park Street (for a map of this section, click here ), going by the old Gilbert Park baseball diamond. This trail also follows the approximate routing on a future segment of the cross-county Border To Border Trail. Area residents are invited to come out and use this new trail and experience what is almost an urban wilderness in the heart of Ypsilanti. If you need to drive to the trail, parking is available just off Michigan Avenue, east of the bridge over the Huron, on the south side of the road(the old original Water Street), or also at Waterworks Park. The trail is not long (around three-tenths of a mile) but it is a real community jewel.
