The Sliders open their home season on Friday and there is a fashion show on Saturday.

Around our neighborhood ---
I'm working on the Luna Lake clean up party to be held on June 13th. The name of the event is "Luna Lake Hoe Down." we need people to come help move compost around and plant a few new plants. The workday will run from 9am till 3pm. The garden is really looking nice but WE NEED VOLUNTEERS. This will be a hard work day but we are working to make it as fun as possible. If there are enough people the day will be fun. If you have never volunteered for a workday it is really a good way to meet your neighbors and show support for your community.

After the workday from 3pm till 6pm we are planning a BBQ/Potluck eat what ya brung type of event. We are working on getting a couple of bands and/or pick up jam sessions. If you play an instrument (accoustic) or can entertain in any other way feel free to join the festivities. We are also looking for folks to entertain kids (balloon animals, face painting --- hopefully Mary will be able to do it). If you can provide any of the following let me know --- prospectparkneighborhood@comcast.net

Even if you can't work on the work portion but have tools to lend please let me know, If you are involved with a youthgroup or church group that wants to help please ask.

Entertainment --- what can you do? should we have a talent show?
Accoustic Band or player --
Food - donate hotdogs, hamburgers, some vegitarian stuff, a potluck dish
Large BBQ grill(s) -- there are grills in the park but they are pretty small and spread out
Face painting, balloon animals etc..
A DJ -- we thought a DJ would be nice during the workday portion
A generator -- so we can power the DJ
A Pick Up Truck -- to haul around the compost -- we are going to have 30 yards to move
Wheel Barrows -- desperately needed,
Shovels, Dirt Rakes, Pitch Forks
A Bobcat or Front Loader
Black Eyed Susans -- a plant we can use
Anything else you can offer

I am also working on getting the back pavilion at Prospect Park cleaned and painted. I had a meeting today with Stan (head of the city DPS) and Pete Murdock (city council) about the project. It looks like we will be in good shape to get this done. There are a few repairs DPS is going to make before we can paint so there isn't a date set.

Fundraising --

We are thinking of getting Prospect Park shirts made so we can sell them. I'm not sure what the design will be but is this something folks would be interested in buying (probably $10.00).

Sliders Baseball Tickets -- We can sell Sliders baseball tickets for $7.00 of which $3.50 will go to the Prospect Park fund (there are some logistics to figuring this out but I'm sure we can do it). Would you purchase Sliders tickets? We would like to have a group Sliders day anyway.
Any other ideas?
